The central figure is depicted seated on the well's rim, wearing a Phrygian cap and holding out the apple. The dial, enamelled in white with black Roman numerals for the hours and signed 'Denière & Mantelin / Fabriquand DeBronze à Paris', is set within an architectural frame reminiscent of an ancient temple, bearing the inscription 'A la plus belle'. It has a rectangular base and small feet.
