STRAVINSKY IGOR: (1882-1971) Russian Composer. An excellent and very attractive A.M.Q.S., Igor Stravinsky, signed twice, one page, large folio, 12 x 16 (30cm x 40cm), musical score page, Morges, September 1916, inscribed to `Madame la Contesse de Miramon´, in French. Stravinsky has very cleanly and carefully penned 4 bars of music on multiple staves, which he entitles beneath as `Petit Fragment du "Coq" ("Fragment of the Coq"), a vocal and dramatic character in his burlesque work "Renard" ("The Fox"), composed between 1915 and 1916. Stravinsky also adds to the heading of the musical quote the tempo `Tranquille" ("Quiet"). The work was written for four male voices (tenors and basses) and a small instrumental ensemble with cimbalom. Stravinsky indicates with precision the musical notes for each musical instrument, including the English corn, the cimbalon, viola, cello, etc.. Signed and inscribed in fountain pen ink to the upper part `Pour Madame la Contesse de Miramon, une page en souvenir de Igor Stravinsky´ ("For the Countess of Miramon, a page in memory of Igor Stravinsky"). Also signed a second time `Igor Stravinsky´ immediately beneath the musical quote. Very small creasing, otherwise VG.
