DELACROIX EUGENE: (1798-1863) French artist of the Romantic school. Autograph receipt signed `Eug. Delacroix?, one page, 8vo, n.p., 16th February 1855, to Monsieur Stail, in French. Delacroix acknowledges the payment received for a painting, stating ?J?ai re?u de Mr. Stail la somme de deux mille francs pour prix d?un tableau repr?sentant une famille arabe? (Translation: "I received from Mr. Stail the sum of two thousand francs for a painting depicting an Arab family.") An interesting document as Delacroix was also well-known for his Orientalist scenes. With blank integral leaf. Overall age wear and staining, with a very small hole to the upper left corner, not affecting the text. About G
