RYAN JOHN: (1921-2009) British animator and cartoonist, creator of the fictional pirate Captain Pugwash. An original black pen and ink drawing signed by Ryan on a white oblong small 8vo card, n.p., 14th March 2006. Ryan has drawn an image of the ship the Black Pig, upon which Captain Horatio Pugwash sailed the high seas, adding the name of the vessel to the head of the card, and signing his name, along with the date, immediately beneath the drawing.
