Title: Pair of Framed Colour Reproductions After Alfred Heaton Cooper (1863/4–1929), The Lake District Wate
Description: Two framed prints by Heaton Cooper (1864–1929), each approximately A4 including frame. One titled Coniston from How Head, 1898; the other also signed Heaton Cooper with the same date span. Both reported in good condition. Acquired as a gift.
Appraisal summary: Pair of framed colour reproductions after Alfred Heaton Cooper (1863/4–1929), the Lake District watercolourist. One is a landscape of a lakeside farmstead with sheep and fells beyond (consignor title: Coniston from How Head, 1898); the other is the cottage interior scene ‘The Cottage Interior, Glencoyne Farm’, showing a mother and infant by a large open hearth. Both carry printed A. Heaton Cooper signatures, double mounts and dark wood frames with gilt slip. Backing label from The Heaton Cooper Studio Ltd, Grasmere, indicates these are later commercial studio prints from the family’s reproduction range rather than original watercolours.
