Description
This lot comprises a collection of cash register indicator flags, also known as price tabs or arms, commonly used in mechanical point-of-sale machines. Each component consists of a curved cast metal arm terminating in a circular display face. The numerical inserts show various denominations including 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, and a symbol for $2. These digits are printed in contrasting colors, such as black or white on backgrounds of red, yellow, and off-white. The inserts are protected by clear covers secured within metal bezels. These gravity-drop indicators were designed to pivot on a internal rod to display transaction amounts. The metal arms appear to be made of steel or iron. No manufacturer names, logos, or patent marks are legible on any of the metal components or display faces throughout the assortment.
