Daniel LANOUX, watercolour painter and sculptor, has been criss-crossing Switzerland and the Alps for many years. Impregnated and in love with our mountains, he immortalizes them by the mastery of the watercolour, a technique of spontaneity and reason, difficult if it is. His works have been reproduced and published in Switzerland and France. Lithographs are distributed in many countries, including the United States. As a professional visual artist and illustrator, he has long been producing a number of posters, especially in the field of alpine sports, and illustrating guidebooks and covers. Creation is his "thing"! His career as a visual artist has always been in correlation with his work as a Creative Director (advertising agency), two parallel but by no means incompatible routes.
The artist knows how to draw, it is undeniable, his passage to the Beaux-Arts, his diploma received after four years of studies in graphic creation and artistic illustration in a US school, are solid bases. It must be said for the anecdote, that he fell into it when he was very small and it is the wall tapestries of the family house which were used to him as first support to express his art being born as of the 6 years age... vocation when you hold us (and especially when you are not opposed by parental prejudices...).

About the artist

Daniel Lanoux (born 1949) is a Swiss watercolour painter and sculptor best known for his depictions of the Alps and Swiss mountain landscapes. He studied graphic creation and artistic illustration for four years at a school in the United States, where he received his diploma. He also attended the Beaux-Arts. Lanoux began drawing at the age of six, initially using the wall tapestries of his family home as his first canvas.

Lanoux works primarily in watercolour, a medium he has mastered through years of practice capturing the mountains of Switzerland and the Alps. His technique balances spontaneity with precision, allowing him to render alpine landscapes with both immediacy and control. Alongside his fine art practice, he has worked extensively as a visual artist and illustrator, producing posters for alpine sports and illustrating guidebooks and covers. His career has combined his work as a creative director in advertising with his independent artistic production.

Lanoux's watercolours have been reproduced and published in Switzerland and France. His lithographs have been distributed internationally, including in the United States. Since 2005, he has been permanently represented by Galerie Harmattan in Megève, France. His work has also been exhibited at Galerie Bouquières in Toulouse, Galerie du Vieux-Morges in Morges, Switzerland, and Galerie de l'Oratoire in Bormes-les-Mimosas, France.
