About the artist
Adrian Gryzel (born 1954), born in The Hague, the Netherlands, is a Dutch painter and printmaker known for his geometric abstract work. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 1974 to 1979.
Gryzel's artistic practice is characterized by geometric abstraction, often employing clear color planes and precise lines in his compositions. His work demonstrates a disciplined approach to form and color, with particular attention to the relationship between geometric elements. As both a painter and printmaker, he has developed a consistent visual language rooted in abstraction.
His work is held in several Dutch public collections, including the Rijkscollectie managed by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and the municipal collection of The Hague, administered by Stroom Den Haag. These institutional holdings reflect his established position within the Dutch contemporary art landscape.
