In 1981, he graduated from PWSSP in Pozna? (currently University of Arts)
with a double degree in Lithography and Poster Design.
Between 1983 – 1990, he ran a non-commercial gallery called, Galeria Wielka 19 in Pozna?,
where he organised more than 200 exhibitions.
He is a professor at his alma mater, where he runs the lithography studio.
He has devoted his entire artistic life to lithography.
About the artist
Stefan Ficner (born 1952), born in Pozna?, Poland, is a Polish artist best known for his work in lithography. He graduated from PWSSP in Pozna?, currently the University of Arts, with a double degree in Lithography and Poster Design in 1981. He is a professor at his alma mater, where he runs the lithography studio.
Ficner has devoted his entire artistic life to lithography, working primarily in abstract and geometric color lithography. His practice demonstrates a sustained commitment to the technical and expressive possibilities of the medium. Through his work, he explores the relationship between form, color, and the unique qualities of the lithographic process.
Between 1983 and 1990, Ficner ran Galeria Wielka 19, a non-commercial gallery in Pozna? where he organized more than 200 exhibitions. His work has been included in the collections of several Polish museums, including the National Museum in Pozna?, the National Museum in Szczecin, and the National Library in Warsaw. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the International Print Biennale in Kraków, where he received a medal in 1988.
