A rare and unusual green tinted double-ended wine glass, circa 1760-70 Of 'roemer' type in light green glass, with two opposing cup-shaped bowls, one of plain shape and the other lipped, joined by a short hollow stem section applied with three raspberry prunts, 14.7cm high Footnotes: Provenance With Jeanette Hayhurst, April 2012 Damment Collection The bowl and stem of this glass resembles the unusual pale green English glass roemers with opaque twist stems that imitate earlier Roemers from the Low Countries, see that sold by Bonhams on 17 May 2017, lot 38. Like those glasses, this was probably also intended for the Dutch export market. An identical glass is illustrated by Derek C Davis and Keith Middlemas, Coloured Glass (1968), p.39 and was sold as part of the Peter Meyer Collection by Bonhams on 1 May 2013, lot 52.
