Purchases of particular importance include a Beilby Royal armorial goblet with the arms of George III, bought through Cecil Davis from Sotheby's on 13 December 1935, lot 62, a superb Chippendale mahogany wine cooler from Tythrop House, Thame, bought from Sotheby's on 21 August 1933, lot 519, a painting of Lord Nelson by Leonardo Guzzardi, bought from Sotheby's on 2 June 1943, lot 109, and a portrait of Lady Clarges by Thomas Gainsborough.
