A Masonic creamware teapot and cover, circa 1770 Staffordshire or Yorkshire, of globular form with a basketweave moulded spout and a grooved, entwined handle issuing elaborate flower and leaf terminals, painted in red and black with a variety of Masonic symbols and emblems to one side, beneath the inscription 'Love the Brother Hood', the reverse with a spray of flowers, the cover with a flower finial, 12cm high (2) Footnotes: Decoration in red and black in this style is traditionally attributed to the Robinson and Rhodes workshop in Leeds, but similar work was also done at Staffordshire.
