Handwritten label "H. Schnicke Maker Cincinnati 1929 No. 56." 14" body, 23.5" overall. With two bows, a case, and an early 20th century photograph of a violinist. Hartry Schnicke (1872-1955) lived in the Delhi Hills area of Cincinnati. He first played in the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 1897, the same year he made his first violin. Provenance: a southwest Ohio collection; mostly collected at local farm and estate auctions.
