A 19th century gilt brass and cut glass eight light tent, waterfall and bag chandelier Probably English, circa 1820-30, stamped to the frame: '1 S' The globular diamond cut nozzles above scalloped drip pans mounted to an inner girdle on swept supports to a central rod below an open corona surmounted by decorative short scrolling arms hung with faceted droplets, the outer girdle inset with borders of similar droplets and hung with a circlet of faceted prism drops, the tent and bag sections all strung with strings of faceted beaded drops below a faceted ball terminal, electricity (some replacements and restorations), later fitted for electricity, 132cm drop, 68cm diameter Footnotes: Provenance Christie's, London, 20 November 2008, lot 168 (£19,000 hammer).
