Description

A late Victorian silvered mounted tortoiseshell tea caddy Of miniature arc-en-arbalète fronted knife box form, the lid with a foliate pierced border centred by a foliate ring handle, the front with plain shield-shaped escutcheon flanked by a similar pierced U shaped border, the silver foil lined interior with floating cover with applied engraved plaque marked 'From the Queen to E. Ricardo 1932', the silver mounts with makers marks GH and hallmarked for Sheffield 1900, 12.5m high including handle, 9cm wide, 9cm deep This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: Y Y Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the UK, see clause 13.
