Four oval ivory portrait miniatures of ladies, the first English school, circa 1750, depicting the sitter wearing an elaborate blue dress, the second by Nathaniel Hone RA (Irish, 1718-1784), the sitter wearing a blue hat, the third attributed to Richard Crosse (English, 1742-1810) and traditionally thought to depict Ann Weber Crosse, the last traditionally thought to be by Samuel Pine depicting a lady in a blue dress with lace cap the first historically thought to be by Ozias Humphry, the sitter with fair upswept hair and brown eyes, her moonlight blue dress applied with small bows on an unusual cloudy white and light blue background, mounted with a gilt metal frame, the second sitter wearing her hat over a white under-cap, and a blue dress with lace collar, monogramed NH and dated 1760, mounted in a later separate deep gilt metal frame, the third sitter wearing a blue dress looking to dexter, her upswept coiffure dressed with a matching blue ribbon, mounted within a gilt metal frame, the last sitter depicted third quarter profile looking to her sinister, her elaborate lace cap applied with blue bows, on a shaded dark to light ground, mounted within a gilt metal frame, the first, 6cm x 5.2cm (the frame 6.2cm x 5.4cm), the second, 4.7cm x 4cm (the frame 7cm x 6cm), the third, 4.4cm x 3.6cm (the frame 6cm x 4cm), the last, 4.8cm x 3.8cm (the frame 7cm X 4.7cm) (4) This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: Y Ф Y Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the UK, see clause 13.
