Attributed to Luke Sullivan (Irish, 1705-1771): Two oval ivory portrait miniatures of ladies, together with three other oval portrait miniatures, one, circle of Pompeo Batoni (Italian, 1708-1787) depicting a nobleman, traditionally thought to depict George Keppel, 3rd Earl of Albermarle, another attributed to Ozias Humphry (English, 1742-1810) depicting a gentleman, the last attributed to Richard crosse (English, 1742-1810) depicting a lady traditionally thought to depicting Harriet, Lady Covteret the first two sitters of similarly appearance wearing draped palest pink or cream gowns with pearl ornaments to the sleeves and upswept powdered coffiures, the second of the two apparently traditionally thought to depict Margaret (or Frances?), daughter of Alderman Robert Hayward, Mayor of Bath, each mounted with similar later cast gilt metal foliate frames, the second example cracked, the third sitter mounted in an ebonised frame, the fourth sitter traditionally thought to depict the son of William Farrington, rector of Warringtonham wearing a green coat mounted within a gilt metal frame, the last sitter depicted in a white dress bearing date 1735, and mounted within a gold frame, the first two, 6cm x 4.5cm (the frames, 8.5cm x 6cm), the third, 3.4cm x 2.5cm (the frame, 4.9cm x 4.2cm), the fourth, 3.4cm x 3cm (the frame, 5.2cm x 4xm), the last 3cm x 2.7cm (the frame, 4.2cm x 3.5cm) (5) This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: Y Ф Y Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the UK, see clause 13.
