A figural group of two children playing with lapti and mittens Gardner Porcelain Factory, Moscow, late 19th - early 20th century modelled as two children at play, the standing girl wearing a cream-coloured dress with red edging and wearing an oversized pair of lapti, or traditional Russian bast shoes, whilst the seatedboy, dressed in a pale blue smock, holds a large mitten before his face, the figures grouped around a simulated wooden chest, on an integral rectangular modelled base, marked under base with impressed mark and impressed number '134' height: 13 cm (5 1/8 in).
