The receiver and metalwork wear a deep, lustrous, highly polished blued finish over clean, crisply machined surfaces. A Lyman Model 21 receiver-mounted peep sight is paired with a blade front sight, and the straight buttstock terminates in a Winchester-marked red shotgun-style recoil pad, with a 14.25" LOP. John Browning's final design for Winchester, the Model 1895 introduced a box magazine that allowed the use of pointed military cartridges. Approximate date of manufacture 1903.
