A highly decorative Continental porcelain vase dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, richly ornamented throughout with elaborate raised polychrome enamel and jewelled decoration in soft tones of green, pink, turquoise blue, cream and burgundy, heightened with gilt detail.

Of elegant baluster form with a flared scalloped rim, twin loop side handles and a further applied rear handle, the vase is reserved with finely hand-painted floral cartouches upon an ivory blush ground.
The surrounding surface is densely covered in intricate scrolling foliate ornament in the Art Nouveau taste, creating an exceptionally vibrant and richly textured appearance from every angle.

The decoration displays strong Austrian and Bohemian influence, reflecting the highly ornate revival wares produced around the turn of the century in the manner of Amphora and related Continental workshops.
The extensive raised enamelling and unusual exuberance of design give the piece remarkable decorative presence.
