Doughty House is a substantial, Grade II listed 18th Century house on Richmond Hill overlooking the Thames. From 1849 it was the home of the Cook family and housed their important collection of paintings, but it suffered bomb damage during WW2 and Sir Francis Cook, 4th Baronet, moved to Jersey in 1948 with some of the paintings. The house was sold in 2013. The frame of this painting bears the number 400 relating to the numbering of the Doughty House collection.
