Wrangham (c.1903-1933), and thence by descent through the family Engraved (Probably) by Conrad Metz for his series Imitations of Ancient and Modern Drawings, published in 1789 This drawing appears to be the original from which Conrad Metz's print was taken. He replicates the strong chiaroscuro element and his engraving is titled 'Guido, in the collection of R. Cosway Esq, R.A.'. Although the drawing lacks Cosway's collector's mark, many of the other drawings in the collection from which it came had belonged to him.
