A decorative Louis XIV style wall mirror of rectangular form, the mirror plate enclosed within a richly ornamented gilt frame with foliate decoration, shaped corner mounts and ebonised mouldings.
The frame is further enhanced by a beaded inner border surrounding the mirror plate.

Displaying strong French influence, the mirror offers a pleasing balance of decorative detail and restrained proportions.
The warm gilded finish and contrasting dark mouldings create an elegant appearance, making it well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Offered in good condition, with minor wear and rubbing to the gilt frame consistent with age and use.
The original mirror plate shows light spotting and age-related streaking to the silvering.
Later mounting brackets have been fitted to the reverse.
A decorative example that displays very well.
