This is the most colorful stone snuff bottle from my collection. The rock identifier suggested three different stones from Limonite, Bronzite, Pietersite and Agate. Whatever stone it is, the snuff bottle carver has selected the best parts to form this bottle. Its form is rather unique and not shaped like the contemporary bottles. It is tall and slender with a wide neck. The body tapers down to an almost raised round foot, unlike the usual oval foot. It is matched with a blue stone stopper encased in brass with a brass spoon.

This bottle among others was collected by an Englishman who in the 1970's served in Her Majesty's Royal Navy in the Far East. While on leave he would visit all the antique markets in the Asia hunting for unusual stones and other snuff bottles. His bottles are all unique and I rarely find any other bottle similar to those I bought from him.
