Titled 'Hey Now (Girls Just Want to Have Fun)', the new version was reworked with reggae and dance hall sounds, and with a new music video featuring the iconic New York landmark The Unisphere and with appearances by drag performers. This storyboard was presented to the label and director of the music video by Cyndi, along with the tear sheets she incorporated for inspiration. The re-release highlighted Cyndi's New York pride, her musical versatility, and her support of the LGBT+ community.
