Compact Springfield Armory XD-40 semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W, serial number XD507447, and presented in used condition with expected signs of wear consistent with age and use. This short-barreled example features a 3-inch barrel with a bright bore and sharp rifling and is accompanied by a light-laser unit, adding useful defensive capability to the compact platform. Its reduced overall size and proven XD configuration make this a practical and appealing example for the shooter seeking a compact .40 S&W pistol.

The XD series became well established in the modern polymer-frame service-pistol market through its striker-fired operation, grip safety, and durable duty-oriented construction. Compact variants such as this 3-inch XD-40 were designed to retain the familiar controls and handling characteristics of the full-size pistol while reducing overall dimensions for easier carry. Chambered in .40 S&W, this example reflects the era when the cartridge was widely favored for defensive and law-enforcement use.
