Colt SP1 .223 Mfg. circa 19821983 Rare Aluminum Stock

This Colt SP1 is a desirable early-1980s example chambered in .223 and presented in excellent overall condition. Estimated to have been manufactured circa 19821983, this rifle is the shorter carbine-style version of the SP1, featuring the characteristic short handguard and a rare aluminum buttstock. The rifle retains its original Colt configuration and presents exceptionally well, with only limited signs of age and use.

The Colt SP1 is historically significant as Colts civilian-market AR-15 and is among the closest civilian configurations to the military M16 of its era. Carbine-length SP1 examples are particularly interesting for collectors, and the combination of the shorter configuration, rare aluminum buttstock, original Colt components, and excellent overall condition makes this an especially appealing example of early Colt AR-15 production.
