French, b. 1982

Julie Curtiss creates paintings, prints, and sculpture featuring elaborate hair, isolated body parts, and uncanny domestic imagery. Her Neo-Surrealist compositions question conventions of femininity, beauty, and control through sharply framed scenes and precise surfaces. Trained in Paris and later influenced by time spent in Japan, she draws on graphic art and noh masks while maintaining a distinctly unsettling figurative language.

Mild surface dirt present throughout and a tiny chip is identified on the smallest sculpture. Overall, in good condition.
