Jenny Saville
British, b. 1970

Jenny Saville is a British painter known for monumental depictions of the human body that challenge idealized conventions and the traditional male gaze. Drawing on Old Master portraiture, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism, she uses dense, physical paint handling to examine flesh, identity, and vulnerability. She studied at Glasgow School of Art and became associated with the Young British Artists generation.
