Dalai Lama autographed 4.25 x 6-inch black-and-white postcard featuring a 1987 portrait by celebrated photographer Herb Ritts. He signed boldly in black marker across the lower portion of the image.

The reverse identifies the image as "His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New York 1987" and credits the photograph to Herb Ritts.

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama (born 1935), is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the world's most recognizable advocates for compassion, nonviolence, and human rights. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his nonviolent efforts on behalf of the Tibetan people.
