Joan Fontaine (1917-2013) was a British-American actress whose celebrated Hollywood career included leading roles in Rebecca, Suspicion, and The Constant Nymph. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance opposite Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's Suspicion, becoming the only performer to win an acting Oscar for a Hitchcock film. Fontaine was also the younger sister of actress Olivia de Havilland.
