Jacques Piccard autographed 5.5 x 3.5" card, signing his name prominently in blue ink across the upper center. The card bears collector annotations identifying him as "Professor Jacques Piccard" and is dated 1983.

Jacques Piccard (1922-2008) was a Swiss oceanographer, engineer, and pioneering deep-sea explorer best known for his work with the bathyscaphe Trieste. On January 23, 1960, Piccard and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Don Walsh descended nearly seven miles to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, becoming the first humans to reach the deepest known point in the world's oceans. His work helped advance the development of deep-sea submersibles and the scientific exploration of the ocean depths.
