Ola L. Mize autographed First Day Cover commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, postmarked Washington, D.C., on March 11, 1974. The ArtCraft cacheted cover bears a block of four 10-cent VFW commemorative stamps and is signed in black ink by Mize. He added the inscriptions "Col. (R) USA SF," "10-11 June 1953," "Korea," and "MOH," referencing his Korean War service and Medal of Honor action.

Ola Lee Mize (1931-2014) was a United States Army soldier and Medal of Honor recipient for his actions during the Korean War. On June 10-11, 1953, while serving with Company K, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, Mize helped defend Outpost Harry against a major enemy assault. Despite being wounded, he continued fighting, moved between defensive positions, assisted wounded soldiers, and helped direct the defense. He later served with U.S. Army Special Forces and retired as a colonel.
