James Clark McReynolds autograph on an official Supreme Court of the United States memorandum slip measuring approximately 3 x 4.5 inches. The memo slip is dated July 23, 1926 and is inscribed "With best wishes," followed by McReynolds' signature and the designation "Justice."
Fine condition.
James Clark McReynolds (1862-1946) served as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1914 to 1941. Appointed by President Woodrow Wilson after serving as U.S. Attorney General, McReynolds was one of the Court's most prominent conservative justices and a leading member of the "Four Horsemen," the bloc that opposed many of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal programs during the 1930s.
