Springbank , 1952 (1x 75cl) Region: Campbeltown, single malt Fill Level: very top shoulder Capsule: good condition, minor signs of rust/age Label: good labelling Packaging: accompanied with original wooden case Alcohol content: 45.5% ABV Notes: Bottle number 15 of 24. Signed on reverse of the front label by Headly Wright, the chairman of Springbank. Distilled at Springbank Distillery on 17th June 1952. Bottled in 1988 by J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd., Springbank Distillery. Footnotes: Among the rarest and most historically significant releases ever produced by the distillery, this extraordinary 1952 vintage stands as both a remarkable whisky and a poignant piece of Scotch whisky history. Distilled on 17th June 1952 and matured for 37 years, the whisky was bottled in 1989 as part of a deeply limited charitable release in aid of those affected by the Lockerbie disaster, which occurred in December 1988. Just 24 bottles were ever produced, making this one of the rarest official Springbank bottlings in existence. Combining exceptional rarity, charitable significance and legendary distillery heritage, the Springbank 1952 Lockerbie Aid Bottling represents far more than simply an aged single malt - it is a true piece of whisky history and unquestionably a crown jewel for even the most advanced Springbank collection.
