Footnotes: Released in the mid-1990s, the Bowmore 30 Year Old Sea Dragon is one of the distillery's most recognisable historic bottlings. Matured entirely from long-aged casks distilled during Bowmore's celebrated 1960s period, it was bottled at 43% ABV and presented in a distinctive black ceramic decanter depicting the mythical sea dragon Kranna Dubh. The imagery draws upon an Islay legend in which the warrior Fionn mac Cumhaill battles the sea dragon on the shores of Loch Indaal. Combining 30-year maturation, whisky from Bowmore's highly regarded 1960s vintages and its distinctive ceramic presentation, the Sea Dragon has become one of the most recognisable older releases from the distillery.
