Description: Gavin Turk (b1967) This is Not A Book about Gavin Turk’, 1st Edition, Editioned, 2002, SOLD OUT.
DESCRIPTION – Soft back Edition. For people with an interest in art and culture this richly illustrated handbook is a playful musing on the contemporary world by over 30 writers, artists and personalities. From ‘Eggs to Garbage’.
Like life in places this book can be profound, sometimes whimsically poetic, often funny and occasionally meaningless. It’s a tragi-comic jamboree through the oeuvre of the artist Gavin Turk and the meanderings of artists minds.
Turk, a British concept artist considered to be one of the Young British Artists, his work examines issues of authenticity and identity within modernist and avant-garde contexts.
The Brit artists Gavin Turk, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Sara Lucas, David Shrigley and Jake and Dino Chapman break through the traditional confines and aged perceptions of one dimensional art with their Brit brand of conceptual 3D dimensional sculpture, diorama, life, concept, visual and confessional art.
