Antique Ebonized Lacquer Slipper Chair With Upholstered Seat

Description

This is a gorgeous antique slipper chair that has a lovely Chinoiserie style and that has intricate details on the spindles. The black lacquer has been accented with red and gilt painted details. Similar chairs have been attributed to the Aesthetic Movement and also called "Napoleon III" in style but I'm not expert at identifying the age. The seat does feel like it is filled with a rougher material - possible horse-hair? It is definitely antique and likely from the late 1800s. The paint is chippy and the upholstery is likely original.
