Description
Canadian. 1880-1901. Daniel Orth was a farmer and earthenware potter in Campden Ontario, a few kilometers from Beamsville. Very little is known of his production, but fortunately for collectors he marked some of his wares. In particular, he marked a number of King Charles spaniels. While unmarked, this example closely resembles marked Orth specimens. While indistinct you can see the outlines of a collar tag on the neck. Attractive streaky glaze in olive and brown tones.
