An incredible recent discovery and a true peice of Canadian history, this card album is accompanied with a story almost as significant as the card's that lie within it's pages. In July of 1914 a young boy, far younger than the legal sign up age for the army, decided that his days of collecting cards were over and that he would be supporting his country in the first world war. Lying about his age, he successfully signed up for the Canadian Army and was sent overseas, leaving this scrapbook behind to his family. The young solider never returned to continue his collecting and this scrapbook remained in one family until today. The book includes an incredible array of tobacco sized cards including 27/36 1910 C56 Hockey cards with Ross, Lalonde and Patrick. Also included are nine cards from the 1911 C55 Hockey set including #38 Georges Vezina, #9 Lake, #17 Darragh, #22 Gilmour, #23 Rowe, #25 Cleghorn, #27B Smaill (Hand on Hip), #39 Dallaire, and #43 Payton. Moving on from hockey, the group includes a significant offering of Lacrosse cards, 41 in total from the 1910 C60 Lacrosse set including Newsy Lalonde and the following card numbers: #3, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 26, 29, 33, 36, 38, 39, 44, 45, 46, 48, 49, 50, 51, 53, 54, 59, 60, 62, 63, 65, 66, 68, 72, 78, 79, 83, 84, 85, 88, 91, 92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 98. The pages also include a wide array of other tobacco cards from the day including 1909-1911 Flags of All Nations (29 Total), 1910 C65 The World's Dreadnoughts (23 total), British Man of War Series of 50 (7), 1910 T58 Fish series (5), various c. 1910 dog and bird series (42), Will's Cigarettes Coat of Arms (32), Tuckett's real photo cards (37), Military uniforms (13), Flying/Aviation (22), 1912 Imperial tobacco prominent men of Canada (18), Boy Scouts (4). It is imprtant to note that zero attempt to remove any cards from this album have been made due to its historical significance.

Condition
About half the cards within the album are applied with glue and the other half applied with a photo sticker of some kind making removal much easier. As noted previously, zero attempt to remove any cards from this album have been made due to its historical significance. Card #38 Georges Vezina is applied with a small photo sticker and removal would be possible with little effort although attempts have not been made to do so. The condition of the reverse side of the card upon removal is uncertain if desired. The Vezina card itself is in good-very good condition with a surface imperfection to the left edge. Other notable cards in good-very good condition are #15 C56 Fred Taylor (glue), #1 C56 Frank Patrick (glue), #9 C56 Angus Campbell (glue), #17 C55 Jack Darragh (glue), #10 C56 Harry Hyland (glue). Notable cards in poor-damaged condition are #12 C56 Art Ross (glue), #97 Lacrosse Newsy Lalonde (glue), #3 Gordon Roberts (glue), #36 C56 Newsy Lalonde (glue with damage). The remaining sporting cards range from poor-very good but are all applied to the album pages except for C55 Fred Lake who's sticker application has failed.
