Issued with Hassan Cork Tip Cigarettes, the 1912 T202 baseball set is a unique grouping featuring some of the game's most recognizable stars. This panel features one of the greats, Christy Mathewson, alongside Arthur Devlin. The center scene on the card is titled "Devlin Gets his Man" and shows Arthur Devlin tagging out a runner at third base. Christy Mathewson was one of baseball’s premier pitchers during the Dead-ball era, spending most of his 17-year career with the New York Giants. A six-time 20-game winner, Mathewson won 373 games, recorded 2,507 strikeouts and helped lead the Giants to two World Series appearances. He was one of the first five players inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.
