The 1942, 1943, and 1946 Grey Cups capture a fascinating period in Canadian football history shaped by the Second World War. The 1942 Grey Cup saw the Toronto RCAF Hurricanes defeat the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers 8–5, while in 1943 the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers claimed their first championship with a 12–5 victory over the Hamilton Flying Wildcats. The 1946 Grey Cup marked the return of traditional civilian clubs following the war, with the Toronto Argonauts defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 28–6. The 1942 and '43 programs are on very condition sensitive paper stock due to war-time rationing. The 1946 program is on a slightly thicker paper stock while matching the cover style of the War-Time programs.
