Souvenirs from Maple Leaf Gardens, this collection of 10 mini-sticks includes a unique grouping of signed examples, game inscriptions and rare variations. The earliest candy cane wrapped example is signed by Harold Ballard, Benny Grant, Syl Apps, Flash Hollett and Wes McKnight. A later example is signed by Glen Skov and Ken Wharram on the blade as well as Tim Horton and two others on the shaft (shaft autos faded). The last signed example is a 1966-67 Stanley Cup signed twice goalie Mini Stick by Johnny Bower. Another interesting inclusion is a Tim Horton photo stick with an inscription from the original stick purchaser saying "Dad ..., and Jack to hockey game Saturday Feb 4 1956 Chicago Black Hawks 4 Toronto Maple Leafs 2 Left Early Sat Feb 4/56 and good time was had by all". Outside of the four aforementioned, the group includes a Jacques Plante, Dave Keon (3), Frank Mahovlich and one unidentified to make 10 total sticks in this offering.
Size
15.25" x 1.5" x 0.5" each.
Condition
The group is in overall very good condition. The earliest signed stick with Ballard is excellent with legible signatures. The Tim Horton stick with game description is fair with glue added to the heel and glue reapplied to the Horton player image and crack to shaft. The Johnny Bower double signed stick is very good with fade to one of two autographs and tape loss to the lower third of the shaft. The stick signed by Skov and Wharram is very good but the shaft autographs, including Horton are severely faded. The Mahovlich and 1/3 Keon player images are crazed. Scuffs with loss to the Plante image. 2/3 Keon sticks are excellent+.
