This influential first year of Sports Illustrated sparked what would become one of the most well-known sports publications of all time. Offered here are four key issues from that first year, including Sports Illustrated #1 from August 1954, which includes its original card insert pages. Also included are the three other card insert issues, August 1954, April 11 1955 and April 19th 1955.

The card insert pages are excellent and untouched. The covers of both April 1955 issues and the second issue (Aug 1954) are very good with minor spine wear and spine wrinkles. The back cover of the #1 Magazine is poor with significant loss.
