Title: Antique Sterling Silver Vesta Case – Birmingham 1915 – T. Heatley – Engraved Match Safe
Description: A charming antique solid sterling silver (925) vesta case, hallmarked Birmingham 1915 by maker T. Heatley. These pocket match safes were carried by gentlemen of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and this one dates from the George V period.
The front is decorated with fine hand-engraved, bright-cut ornament: a bold diagonal band with a ribbed border, a dotted trim, and delicate fern-like foliate sprays in the corner. The hinged lid has matching engraved detail. The case keeps its original suspension ring, so it can be attached to a watch chain or Albert chain, or worn as a pendant or charm. The ridged striker is still present along the base.
