A lovely mid‑century Swiss classic – hand‑wound, honest, freshly serviced and running beautifully.

This charming vintage ORIS is a proper piece of 1940s/1950s Swiss watchmaking. The warm silver dial is signed ORIS – Waterproof – 15 Jewels – Anti‑Shock, with applied gilt arrow batons, raised Arabic numerals at 12, 2, 4, 8 and 10, and a recessed, snailed sub‑dial for the running seconds at 6 o'clock. Slim gilt hands complete the understated, elegant look that makes these mid‑century dress watches so wearable today.

The case is gold plated with a stainless steel back, with classic stepped lugs and a fluted crown. The watch has been recently serviced and is running strongly and keeping good time. It has also been fitted with a brand new brown leather strap with a gold plated buckle, complementing the case beautifully and ready to wear

Condition

Recently serviced, working wonderfully and keeping good time during testing. In good cosmetic condition for its age, with light surface marks and honest wear to the plating and case consistent with a watch of 70+ years. The dial is clean and attractive with some minor age marks visible under magnification, and the lume plots have aged to a soft cream patina.
