Details:
Henry Morton autographed handwritten letter (ALS), dated April 27, 1894, from Hoboken, New Jersey. Written on Stevens Institute of Technology letterhead, the two-page letter is penned on both sides of a single sheet and signed at the conclusion, "Very truly yours, Henry Morton."
Addressed to a Mr. Boggs, Morton discusses financial matters and an investment proposal. He notes that he has "so many engagements in New York" that it is difficult for him to leave the city during the evening, but invites Boggs to dine with him to discuss the matter. Morton asks for details regarding an anticipated payment under an endowment policy due the following November, comments that six months' interest "does not look attractive," and requests figures showing what a new $15,000 policy would cost if a new examination proved satisfactory.
An interesting personal financial letter from Morton during his long tenure as president of Stevens Institute of Technology.
Measures approximately 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Near fine condition.
