Warren G. Harding (1865-1923) served as the 29th President of the United States from 1921 until his death in office in 1923. A former Ohio newspaper publisher, state legislator, lieutenant governor, and United States senator, Harding campaigned on a promised “return to normalcy” following World War I. His administration supported pro-business policies and international arms limitation, but was later overshadowed by scandals involving several appointed officials, most notably the Teapot Dome scandal.
