Fine condition.
Charles W. Lindberg (1920–2007) was a United States Marine and World War II veteran who participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima. A flamethrower operator with the 5th Marine Division, Lindberg was part of the patrol that climbed Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945, and was one of the Marines who raised the first American flag on the summit. Marine photographer Lou Lowery documented that first flag raising before the larger, second flag was raised later that day in the celebrated photograph by Joe Rosenthal. Lindberg later received the Silver Star for his actions on Iwo Jima.
