Fine condition.
Charles W. Lindberg (1920–2007) was a United States Marine and World War II veteran who participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima. A flamethrower operator with the 5th Marine Division, Lindberg was part of the patrol that climbed Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945, and was one of the Marines who raised the first American flag on its summit. Marine photographer Lou Lowery documented that first flag raising before the larger second flag was raised later that day in the famous photograph by Joe Rosenthal. Lindberg was awarded the Silver Star for his actions on Iwo Jima.
